MICROS Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce the monitored release of Simphony Version 2.1. The latest version of Simphony features major enhancements for configuration management and a new operations client platform.
Simphony v2.1 introduces an all new point-of-service client that provides a highly customizable graphical user interface experience unlike any other. Simphony v2.1 offers more flexibility in how definitions such as menu item prices, service charges, and discounts are configured for advanced Enterprise Configuration Management. Users can define their own hierarchies to create price tiers and control menu item availability within stores and regions. Promotional items and discounts can be configured months in advance and automatically become available to the cashiers when the promotion commences. The extensibility options available in Simphony v2.1 are vastly superior to previous versions. Customer definition data, such as nutritional data, or pictures, can be added into the system through the Enterprise Management Console and synchronized to the Simphony v2.1 client. The new client supports customization in many areas including the user interface, customer reporting, and scripting. The Simphony Reports module, powered by mymicros.net, has also been enhanced to allow customers to take advantage of the new Pentaho reporting suite of charts, dashboards, and ad hoc reporting tools.
