MICROS Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce the Release of MICROS Simphony v1.5 for customers installing an On-Premise (also known as “Self Hosted”) system. With this release, Simphony v1.5 will be available to any customer that wishes to upgrade or install new On-Premise implementations.

In addition, new functionality introduced in this version of Simphony is centered on PCI Security including enhancements to the Credit Authorization / Property Management System (CAPMS) credit card driver. Support for authorization reversals on the CAPMS driver has been added to support the recent credit card mandates that have been issued by MasterCard. This functionality causes Simphony to release authorized funds on a credit card in the event the transaction is tendered to a different form of payment after an initial authorization has occurred. The credit card companies have pushed this mandate due to the large volumes of pre-paid gift and check cards that are used as payments today. Additionally, the CAPMS driver has been added to support the use of tokens in place of cardholder data when storing credit card data for batch and settlement purposes.
