MICROS Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of MICROS Restaurant Enterprise Solution (RES) Version 4.8 and RES Enterprise Management (EM) Version 4.8. The latest version of RES offers several new enhancements to MICROS’s proven point-of-sale system. RES EM v4.8 is a companion release to manage the feature enhancements offered by RES v4.8.

MICROS RES v4.8 introduces several targeted enhancements to meet market needs for quick service and table service restaurant requirements across the globe. Key features include support for the new Workstation 5A (WS5A). MICROS RES v4.8 addresses the increased activity in the ice cream and yogurt market places with added support for scales including support for pounds, kilograms, and ounces. Improvements to the receipt printing include single wide printing to a remote order device printer and functionality to print barcode ID’s on guest check, remote order device, or to display on the touch screen. New “Make” and “Split” key functions for Conversational Order Mode allow users to select COM menu items rung in check detail and modify a select quantity of the items. VIP, Rush, and Printed Status icons are now displayed on the POS Operations, whereas previously, the icons were limited to the KDS display. EM v4.8 has added functionality in support of MICROS RES v4.8 including functionality to add or interest new pricing directly through the Menu Item Price Editor and enhanced ability to manage employee “Jobs” through Store Group Assignment.
