MICROS Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of the Restaurant Enterprise Solution (RES) Version 4.6. This version includes several new features to the RES suite to enhance the functionality of the point-of-sale system: Motorola MC55 Mobile MICROS handheld is now supported and Tip Reporting Alternative Commitment (TRAC), Tip Share, and Curbside can be enabled, as well as table management host mode and quick seat. These features increase the accuracy of tip reporting and ease the curbside pick-up process.

MC55 Mobile MICROS Handheld has passed MICROS’s quality assurance program and is now supported with MICROS RES versions 4.4, 4.5, and 4.6.

Tip Reporting Alternative Commitment (TRAC) is used to calculate employees’ tax responsibility when declaring tips. When enabled, this new function is useful for managers to ensure their employees are declaring an appropriate percentage of cash and credit card tips for tax purposes. The Tip Share application allows a site to configure a suggested percentage of an employee’s gross receipts that should be shared with other employees.

Curbside allows a site to expedite the order pickup process by simplifying the transaction, while allowing the customer to stay in the comfort of their vehicle. Promise Time will calculate an estimated pick-up time, enhancing the customer experience.
