While outwardly identical to the WS5, the MICROS WS5A is a complete technology refresh, offering vastly improved performance and functionality. The new workstation provides dramatic enhancements to processing capability, expansion and peripheral connectivity, while continuing to provide customers with dependable, easy-to-use hardware specially designed for the hospitality and retail industries. With the WS5A, MICROS provides a point-of-sale terminal that offers outstanding performance for all users, ensures maximum reliability by having no moving parts, and “sips” electrical power to be more environmentally and economically responsible than competitive devices.

The need for dependable, user-friendly devices in the hospitality and retail market places is obvious. MICROS meets and exceeds the needs of these industries with the easy-to-install, reliable, unobtrusive, and adaptable MICROS WS5A. Each WS5A ships with the MICROS Client Application Loader (CAL) already installed, making installation as easy as plugging in a network and power cable, then following a few simple prompts on the display. The WS5A upholds the WS5’s reputation for high standards of reliability, including an impressive meantime between failure and an extremely low RMA rate, and trouble-free operation. To address the most common point of failure, mechanical wear, the MICROS WS5A is passively cooled (no fans are necessary), and utilizes flash memory for mass storage, eliminating the need for spinning drives. MICROS understands that space is at a premium in today’s restaurants, stores, and hotels, to address this, the WS5A features a compact, all in one design with a small footprint and multiple options for mounting or placement.
